Jamburagala 4:5 Male

[Gala = rock]

Jamburagala 4:5 male was a big male and was first photographed for identification in March 2012, around the Buthawa Plain. Then he moved towards the Jamburagala and Mahaseelawa areas.

By 2016, he was one of the dominating males around the areas of Jamburagala, Mahaseelawa, Kudāseelawa, Pattiya wala, Tanki Gala, Wilapalawa, and Thelambu Kema.

He mated with many different females in his territory during the years of 2015-2017. He took over the territory of the previous dominant male of the same area, who was the Jamburagala 3:3 male, aka “Ivan” (Eye-One) after he left.

He was easily distinguishable due to his highly faded face where patches of fur were missing.

Once this male was seen close to the Cinnamon Wild Hotel. After January 2019, there are no confirmed sightings of this legendary creature.
